São Pedro (Portuguese for Saint Peter) is the small fishing town situated in the southwest of the island municipality of São Vicente, Cape Verde. The island's airport is just slightly to the northeast. It is located 7 km southwest of Mindelo, the island capital and is the soouthwesternmost point of the road. The GDP until the 2000s were low-class and the living standards used to be low as well.
The urban area has small houses and are also linked close to its beach with its fishing boats. The front of the houses within the streets and its doors are not linked with any roads but are rarely driven over, the northern part are linked with small streets, alleys and a major road. The area around are mainly grassy and bushy. A mountain connected with a small mountain range dominating the southern portion of the island is east of the village centre and has a row with a few homes built in the late-20th century, housing is slowly booming along with its population. The mountain ranges with Monte Cara covers the northern and the western parts.
São Pedro has a large beach with sea turtles in the bay of the same name, the parrage of arid and majestic and constant winds turns into an internationally used beach where windsurfing is popular.
São Pedro is the spot of the only modern hotel with small apartments named Foya Branca. 2 km west is the lighthouse named Farol de Dona Amélia.
Presently in 2005, the works on transforming the actual Airport, inaugurated in 1960 into an international airport with a middle course, proceeded with a construction with a modern terminal with about 11,000 m² with a capacity of about 500 passengers an hour. The runway which is about 1,500 m to 2,000 m in length of compromising with 45 m in length will be illuminated.
São Pedro has a school, a middle school, churches, banks and a few squares praças. The nearest secondary school is in Mindelo.
